The Michael Forever Tribute Concert: A Fitting Tribute or a Money Spinner?

The 'Michael Forever' tribute concert that is set to take place at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on October 8th, which Stereoboard has been closely following, has outraged fans of the late King of Pop. Some Michael Jackson fans believe their loyalty and love for their idol has made them easy targets for the money-hungry organisers of the gig, and the Jackson family members openly supporting the concert.

The Bled Split Up

Needless to say, last week was a horrendous time for music fans. Earlier in the week, George Pettit released a statement explaining that Alexisonfire were (inevitably) breaking. Dallas Green had left 18 months ago to take his folk side project City and Colour further. Now, Wade MacNeil is fronting Gallows as well as wanting to take his side project, Black Lungs further. On Thursday night, The Bled confirmed that they were also breaking up.

Hawk Eyes - Witch Hunt (Single Review)

I remember someone showing me a review of the 'Modern Bodies' album by NME; I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life. They slated it. Before you read on let me make this clear, I love this band, and like most things that I love, I am extremely critical of them. Their last album 'Modern Bodies' is without a doubt one of the best albums from last year. Hawk Eyes (formerly known as Chickenhawk) are a band from Leeds and like most awesome signed bands in Leeds, they come to us via Brew Records. What stands out the most about them is that they don't try to be anything they're not. This is them, this is their sound and if you don't like it, then you know where the door is. This attitude and their sound is welcome, there is too much out there that tries to fit into 'the scene' which in turn makes it sound bland, like everything else. This is gutsy, this will kick you in the face, knock out all your teeth and you will thank it for doing it.

Stereoboard Speaks To Former Sex Pistol Paul Cook About New Rock Supergroup Man-Raze (Interview)

For those of you unaware of the rock trio Man-Raze, let us give you a brief history. Formed in 2004, Def Leppard’s Phil Collen, his former bandmate from Girl, Simon Laffy and Paul Cook (pictured left) – drummer of the mighty Sex Pistols – joined forces in a bid to start their new rock ‘n’ roll project. Although their live shows have been limited over the years, their first album ‘Surreal’ dropped in 2008 and it’s now – three years later – that the threesome have headed back to the studio and given us the highly anticipated sequel.

Rubicks - Rise of the Giddy (Album Review)

Rubicks has been bubbling under for nearly a decade now. After the band released its first single, 'Midas' in 2002, fans had to wait a further four years until it released its début LP, In Miniature on Universal Records in 2006. The album was met with critical acclaim and Rubicks acquired a loyal fan base who were teased with the 2009 EP, Idiot Time, and a string of singles throughout 2010 before the long-awaited Rise of the Giddy hit shelves this August. The fans' patience and faith has, no doubt, been vindicated.

Me Unveil The Video For 'Like A Fox' - Watch Now

Me are Luke Ferris (vocals, guitar, piano), Damian Tapley (guitar, vocals), Michael Godde (bass, vocals) and Spike Rogers (drums, programming). The band formed in 2009 in Melbourne, Australia, although Australia being Australia, only drummer Spike is from Melbourne itself, whereas Damian hails from Perth and Mikey scooted down from the snowy peaks of Mount Beauty. All four are agreed, however, that Melbourne is the epicentre of the Australian music scene. Indeed, Spike suggests that this is because “there are countless pubs, venues on every street corner which have capacities of 25-50 people unlike other cities” whereas Mikey just describes it as “an outburst of happiness with people hugging each other all the time. In fact,” he adds quietly, “no one wants to leave!” Well, after a monster ten-month residency at the Evelyn Hotel, Melbourne and a sell-out Australian tour supporting alt-rock heroes Dead Letter Circus, leave is something that [ME] have definitely done – and it’s to our mutual benefit.
